About Jenson J. Swampillai, MD

Jenson J. Swampillai, MD is a Board-Certified PM&R and pain specialist and will be available for new patients at both our St. Clair Shores and Clinton Township office sites. He is especially interested in Spine and Joint Pain as well as acute/chronic sports injuries. His focus is on maximizing a patient’s function and quality of life through the use of medications, injections, medical equipment, physical therapy, and regenerative medical options such as platelet-rich plasma injections. He is also EMG certified.

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Sciences and Physiology from Western University of Canada in London, Ontario, Canada.
• Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
• Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He then returned to Michigan State University to subspecialize and complete a two-year.
• Fellowship in Interventional Spine, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Sports Medicine. He previously treated and worked on the sidelines for the MSU Division I athletes of 2023-2024.

Swampillai is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR); and Electrodiagnostic Medicine through the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM). He is also Board Eligible in Sports Medicine.
