Sleep Center

Are You Experiencing Sleep Loss?

  • 40 Million adults suffer from specific sleep disorders
  • Up to 20 million people or approximately 5% of the U.S. adult population suffer from Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA); 90% of these are middle aged males. (OSA is a condition where the patient experiences interruption in breathing several times during the night that may decrease oxygen in the blood and fragment sleep.)
  • OSA can dramatically shorten life expectancy if untreated.
  • Individuals with OSA are 7 times more likely to have an automobile accident.
  • 95% of patients with OSA are undiagnosed.
  • Sleep Apnea occurs in patients who have other diseases such as respiratory problems, cardiac failure, hypertension, neuromuscular disease, and facial or palate deformities.

  2. You feel tired during the day after a full night of rest.
  3. You wake up with headaches.
  4. You have been told that you gasp for air or stop breathing during the night.
  5. You fall asleep at inappropriate times, such as during meetings or while driving.
  6. You take frequent naps.
  7. You have leg or arm twitching movements that awaken you or your partner.
